Show and Tell
For LP®, the International Builders’ Show held in Orlando in January is more than a place to promote our products and take the pulse of the booming building industry; it’s also a chance to get feedback from customers, one-on-one, so we can make even better products to meet their needs.

“Large builders want to be working more closely with manufacturers,” says Ken Root, LP General Sales Manager, who represented LP at the show. “They want manufacturers to understand their world and their challenges.”
Input from builders about their challenges is what originally led us to add trim to our line of SmartSide® products. Builders told us that they wanted narrow trim, especially for custom homes, but cedar varieties often had knots or defects. The unique composition of SmartSide made it ideal for this type of product, and two- and three-inch-wide trim was added to our product line. Builders thanked us.
At this year’s IBS show we exhibited all of our retail, wholesale and homebuilding products, giving builders, architects and homeowners a chance to ask questions, learn about products and interact with them. From getting hands-on with GreenFiber insulation and TechShield® panels to taking a seat, backyard-style, on the edge of an LP WeatherBest® Premium Grain Tuscan Walnut deck, show attendees liked what they saw. And, who knows? Feedback from someone at this year’s IBS show could lead to the development of yet another premium LP product.
