LP® Executive Biographies 

Rick Frost, CEO, joined LP in 1996, with prior industry experience gained at Boise Cascade, Scott Paper Company, SD Warren, and SAPPI, covering a 29-year career in the forest products sector. During his tenure as Vice President of Timberlands and Procurement, Mr. Frost led the divestiture of LP's forestlands and pulp businesses; the achievement of SFI 3rd Party Certification; consolidated all purchasing and logistics operations for the Company, and established an OSB business in Chile. In 2002, Mr. Frost became EVP of LP leading the Oriented Strand Board (OSB) and Engineered Wood Products (EWP) businesses, as well as procurement, logistics, corporate engineering and R&D. He also led the exit from the industrial panels and lumber businesses. Mr. Frost was named CEO of LP on Nov. 1, 2004 and is a member of its Board of Directors. He serves on the not-for profit boards of the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA), the Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC), the Temperate Forest Foundation (TFF), and is vice-chairman of the National Air and Stream Council (NCASI). He is also past-chairman of the Forest Resources Association (FRA). Mr. Frost holds a B.S. in General Studies and a B.S. in Industrial Forest Management from LSU as well as an MBA from Northwestern State University of Louisiana.

Curt Stevens , executive vice president administration, and CFO, is responsible for administrative and financial functions including accounting, financial reporting, treasury, risk management, information technology, legal, strategic planning and business development, internal audit, communications, flight, and several subsidiary operations and joint ventures.  Prior to joining LP in 1997, he was an executive vice president and board member at Planar Systems, Inc., a manufacturer of electronic flat panel displays.  Mr. Stevens holds a B.S. in Economics and an M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance from the University of California at Los Angeles.  He is a Certified Public Accountant and a board member of Longview Fibre Company.

Rick Olszewski, executive vice president of specialty products, sales and marketing, joined LP from the Avery Dennison Corporation where he served for 8 years, most recently as vice president of the Fasson Roll Division, North America. He also brings 17 years of marketing, sales and general management experience with Monsanto, including an international assignment in Belgium. Mr. Olszewski holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration from the University of Missouri.

Jeff Wagner
, executive vice president oriented strand board (OSB), has spent his 27-year professional career with LP. In the first half of his career, Mr. Wagner worked in forestry, both in land management and procurement roles. In 1996, he launched LP’s first corporate-wide procurement organization. In his most recent role with LP as vice president, forest resources, supply management and logistics, Mr. Wagner managed LP’s fiber and key material streams procurement, logistics and transportation activities, as well as the increasingly complex systems related to overall supply chain management.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Humboldt State University. 

Jamey Barnes, vice president oriented strand board (OSB) manufacturing, joined LP in 2006 as Eastern Region OSB manager. He was promoted to his current position in July 2007. Mr. Barnes oversees manufacturing at LP’s OSB facilities operating in North America. With more than 30 years experience in wood products manufacturing, he previously had held management positions at International Paper and Georgia-Pacific. Mr. Barnes holds a BA in Business from the University of Arkansas.

Mike Blosser, vice president of environmental, health and safety (EH&S), has responsibility for the corporate safety and environmental efforts of LP. Mr. Blosser was appointed to his current position in June 2007. He joined the company in 1999 when LP acquired ABTCO, where he had worked for 15 years. Most recently, Mr. Blosser served as manufacturing manager for LP’s Siding business. He holds an MBA from Babcock Graduate School of Management, Wake Forest University, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University.

Dave Crowevice president corporate engineering and technology, has been in the forest products industry more than 30 years. Mr. Crowe came to LP as manufacturing manager OSB in 1999. Prior to joining LP, Mr. Crowe worked for Champion International for 15 years, J D Irving Ltd. for two years and SAPPI for six years. A graduate of the University of Maine, Mr. Crowe holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.

Jeff Duncan
, VP, CIO and Director of Technology, is responsible for managing LP’s computing infrastructure, as well as ensuring the consistent quality of LP products and services.  Mr. Duncan joined LP in 1996 and was previously employed by E.I. DuPont de Nemours for 19 years. A graduate of Ohio State University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Mr. Duncan continued his education at Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Richmond.  Mr. Duncan serves on the boards of the Nashville Technology Council and Nashville's Habitat for Humanity.

Mark Fuchsvice president and General Counsel, joined LP in 2001, coming from  Bullivant Houser Bailey, a west coast regional law firm where he represented directors and officers, corporate boards, insurance companies and product manufacturers in various litigation matters. When he first joined LP, Mr. Fuchs managed the corporation's litigation caseload, and was named General Counsel effective January 1, 2003.  He was named vice president in February 2007. Mr. Fuchs currently sits on the AF&PA General Counsel's Committee.  Mr. Fuchs holds a B.S. in Biology from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, an MBA from Portland State University and a J.D. from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon.

Ann Harris, vice president human resources, joined LP in 2005, coming from The Shaw Group, where she was vice president of human resources. In addition, Mrs. Harris has held positions with Boeing, Dow Chemical and The IT Group. Mrs. Harris is responsible for all human resources functions and safety, and works diligently to meet LP’s vision of being an employer of choice. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Maryville College in Maryville, Tennessee.

Brian Luomavice president and general manager engineered wood products,  is a 20-year veteran of the building products industry, 19 of which he has spent at LP.  In his current position, Mr. Luoma is responsible for LP’s EWP operations, overseeing the operations and activities of LP's engineered wood products manufacturing facilities. In his time with LP, Mr. Luoma has held a variety of positions, including director of forest resources, northern regional operations manager OSB, and more recently he served as vice president of procurement, supply management and logistics. Mr. Luoma holds a B.S. in Forestry from Humboldt State University, and he has completed the Executive Development Program at the University of Tennessee Center for Executive Education.

John Neilson,
 vice president of marketing began his career with LP in 2003. Mr. Neilson’s focus is on building demand for LP products by strengthening LP’s marketing organization and programs. Since his arrival at LP, he has spearheaded the LP Field and brand identity initiatives. Prior to joining LP, Mr. Neilson served in a number of marketing director roles at Miller Brewing Co., and was a brand manager at Kraft Foods, Inc. Mr. Neilson has a BS in Aerospace Engineering from West Point and an MBA from Northwestern University. After graduating from West Point, Mr. Neilson served 7 years as a field artillery officer in the United States Army.

Neil Sherman, vice president procurement, logistics and supply management has been with LP since 1994. Most recently, Mr. Sherman served as director business development and corporate real estate. Mr. Sherman holds a Bachelor of Science in Waste and Waste Water Management from Humboldt State University in Arcata, Calif.


Mike Simsvice president sales, has spent the last 21 years in building products sales and marketing. Prior to joining LP, Mr. Sims was an area sales manager for Abitibi-Price Corporation, and the director of marketing and vice president sales for ABTco Building Products. He is also a member of The NBMDA Association board of directors. Mr. Sims holds a B.A. from Western State in Gunnison, CO.

John Sookergeneral manager, Outdoor Living Group, has spent most of his career in the building products industry. Mr. Sooker joined LP in 1995 as a product manager in the exterior sidings division and has held management roles of increasing responsibility within LP's plastics business. Prior to joining LP, Mr. Sooker was with Worldmark/AmeriMark Corporation in various financial and marketing roles. He began his career in public accounting with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Co., with primary emphasis on mergers and acquisitions within banking and real estate. Mr. Sooker holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University.

Brad Southern, vice president and general manager siding, joined LP in 1999. Prior to his current position, Mr. Southern was vice president of specialty operations. Mr. Southern began his career with MacMillan Bloedel as a forester and progressed through a variety of jobs in forestry, strategic planning, finance, accounting and plant management. Mr. Southern has a B.S. in Forest Resource and a M.S. in Forest Resources, both from the University of Georgia.
