4 x 4 post 71/2" into the
outer rim joist frame. |

Through the joist and post,
pre-drill two offset 1/2"
diameter holes 1" from
the left and right edge of the
post, approximately 41/2"
apart vertically and no closer
than 21/2" from the bottom
of the post. |
